You can rent a modern one-bedroom apartment in central areas like Batel or \u00c1gua Verde for around R$2,000 to R$3,000. Crime rates are relatively low for a major Brazilian city, and the streets are generally well-maintained. The social scene is growing, especially among expats, students, and young professionals.
